Dining Hall and Cookouts

Monday, Wednesday, and Friday we serve meals in our Dining Hall. Meals include Lasagna, Hamburgers, Chicken Fajitas, Load Baked Potatoes, etc.. We also have a salad bar with lots of options at all Dining Hall meals.

On Tuesdays groups will cookout over a fire one of the following: meatball subs, BBQ chicken wraps, soft tacos, and pizza. All meal include a fruit or veggie side. The group will decide which one to cook.

On Thursday, all groups do a hotdog and S'mores cookout. Cookout days give campers the opportunity learn fire safety, cooking skills, teamwork, and food safety.

Frog and Turtle Race

Every Wednesday Campers and Staff participate in a Frog and Turtle Race. Throughout the week, campers take care of any frog or turtle they find at camp. Campers may bring a frog or turtle from home. Camp DaKaNi is not responsible for a pet that is lost while at camp. Any frog or turtle caught at camp must stay at camp.

Water Fight

Every Friday afternoon after camp is cleaned up, any camper who would like to may participate in a water fight. Older and younger youth will have the water fight in separate areas. Large cups or bottles work the best. Please do not bring water guns.Your child clothing will be dirty and wet. Please bring extra towels during pickup or send your child with an extra change of clothing.

Council Fire

Council Fire is held on Friday afternoon. Staff and campers will gather and celebrate a fun and successful week at camp. We will hand out activity awards and each group will be recognized.  If your child has purchased a camp shirt, please have them wear it on Friday for Council Fire.

Camp Store

Our camp store is open daily. We have t-shirts and items to remember your camp experience. You may put money in your child’s online account or send a child with cash or check.

Visiting Day

On Friday parents are invited to come to camp around 8:30 am. Your camper can walk around with you and show you how they have spent their week. At 9:00 am parents can join us in the pavilion as we sing songs and start our day with a flag raising ceremony. We ask that after the flag raising, all parents head back to their cars so campers can start their activities for the final day of the camp week. The camp store will be open to parents from 8:30 am to 9:30 am. This is seperate from Council Fire, which is held for campers and staff in the afternoon.
